50-mile walk over five days aims to raise awareness

A 50-MILE walk from St Leonards to Hove has been organised to raise awareness of The Abbeyfield Movement.

The walk is set over five days and will commence on April 14 at Ridge House, in Boscobel Road, St Leonards, finishing at Bryson House in Hove, and visiting Abbeyfield Houses en route.

The walkers also aim to raise funds towards the upkeep of the minibus at Ridge House. Abbeyfield is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making the lives of older people easier, by providing a range of services.

The route is as follows.

Saturday, April 14: Ridge House to the Ash Public House at Ashburnham (9.5 miles).

Sunday, April 15: Ashburnham to Pevensey Castle where the mini bus will take the walkers to Eastbourne pier for a short walk along the sea front to Beamsley House (10.5 miles).

Monday, April 16: Beamsley House along the South Downs Way, finishing at Abbeyfield House, Alfriston (nine miles). Tuesday, April 17: Alfriston to Woodingdean, across the South Downs (12.5 miles).

Wednesday, April 18: Woodingdean to Rottingdean, then along the seafront through Brighton, finishing at Bryson House in Hove (8.5 miles).
