Summer Exhibition, Hastings Arts Forums, until August 16, free
Seascape by St Leonards artist Alexandra Leadbeater
ARTISTS inspired by summertime beside the sea are showcasing a host of new work in a seafront gallery.
The Hastings Arts Forum, Marina, has a busy programme featuring local artists over the next month.
Members of the group stage a private view tonight (Friday), from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, ahead of a full exhibition from August 4 to 16.
On Friday, August 5, St Leonards artist Alexandra Leadbeater stages her first solo show in Gallery 1 of the Arts Forum.
Ebb & Flow features a series of salty seascapes inspired by life beside the English Channel.
Alexandra describes an “endless fascination” with the sea’s edge, and captures that in a series of prints, cards, tiny watercolours and life-size wave-portraits.
The private view, on August 5, runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, while the full show runs from August 4 to August 16.
