The ambulance, which carries equipment to deal with numerous incidents, is frequently breaking down.
Every year WRAS ambulances drive more than 50,000 miles across East Sussex and beyond to rescue sick, injured or orphaned wildlife casualties.
The ambulances attend between 2,000 and 3,000 incidents each year.
WRAS vehicles have attended more than 100 birds on the Sussex coastline so far in 2008.
There is equipment stored on board to deal with dolphins and seals and WRAS work with British Divers Marine Life Rescue.
