THESE toddlers had something to celebrate as education inspectors gave their nursery top marks following a visit.

Artemis Nursery, in Calvert Road, was rated as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted this week.

Liz Caluori, the inspector who wrote the report, said the children who attended were “happy, confident and making excellent progress in all areas of their development”. She also praised staff for making the nursery “inspiring and inclusive”.

Ms Caluori said: “The nursery manager very successfully inspires her staff team and has an impressive commitment to promoting their professional development by offering very regular training opportunities. Great care and attention is given to identifying children’s individual needs through the use of observations and regular information sharing with parents and carers.

“Children play and learn in a bright, friendly and attractively presented environment. They have easy access to a good range of toys and equipment.

“Laughter can be heard throughout the building as well as lots of completely charming, often slightly random, conversations.”

Lee Buggy, owner of Artemis Nursery, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Ofsted recognises the enthusiasm and dedication of our staff in achieving the highest standards of care for children and parents.

“We feel incredibly proud to now have two ‘Outstanding’ nurseries in the St Leonards and Hastings area.”
