Hastings Rambling Club

THE recent weather situation has proved interesting for walkers, but only one scheduled walk (Crowhurst) has had to be cancelled. Approximately 30 of the group enjoyed a post-Christmas evening meal and social get-together in Pett.

Members are advised that due to unforseen external circumstances the planned winter holiday to Minehead in early March has had to be cancelled, are reminded that the AGM has been moved forward to Wednesday, April 10 and that the annual membership subscription will be increased to £7 in March.

The committee is actively investigating new ideas for social events following the unexpectedly low turnout for the Beetle Drive. Members are advised to check their future newsletters for details of new events.

Next year, 2014, will mark the 60th anniversary of the club and we are keen to celebrate this.

New members are always welcome and we would especially like to see more members in the under-60 year age group. Forthcoming scheduled walks are: Battle Peripherique 4.5miles (February 10), High Weald Landscape Trail 9 miles (February 17) and Robertsbridge 10 miles (February 24).

Walking is an ideal way to get fit and socialise at the same time.
