BLUE skies and sunshine welcomed the opening day of the Ladies Miniature Golf Club which was again held in the White Rock Gardens.
It was attended by the President, the Mayor of Hastings, Mrs Maureen Charlesworth, who hit the first ball to commence play.
The Captain, Mrs Pat Warner informed those present that 19 new members had joined the club this year. In all 64 ladies attended for a game on the beautifully prepared course which was much appreciated.

During the afternoon the Raynor Spoon was awarded to the player with the lowest score. This was won by Mrs Joan Whistler - a lady who only joined the club this year!

Afterwards everyone enjoyed a delicious tea at the White Rock Hotel and it was while we were there that the Mayor donated a charming new trophy to the club.

This will be competed for on July 29 and presented at our Autumn Prize Giving.

The Chairman, Mrs Reta Graham wished everyone a successful season and thanked the staff of the hotel for their delicious refreshments and kindly consideration.

To close the proceedings the draws were made for the Crisp and Johnston tournaments.

Everyone felt enthusiastic and happy to be back on the best course in the borough!
