HASTINGS & St. Leonards Chess Club have had double success in the Mid-Sussex Chess League.
The club's first team regained the title (taking it for the third time in four years) with an excellent unbeaten record. They won seven and drew two of their matches, with Horsham as runners-up. To quote team captain Richard Almond, it was "a success for all members to celebrate and be proud of".

There was success also for the club's third team, under Martyn Shorrocks, who won promotion from Division 4 with a late surge into the runners-up spot.
