A TALK about China, twice visited by member John Shuttleworth, was illustrated with remarkable scenes from ancient wood sculptures to vast ultra-modern complexes. Without doubt, it is a country of contrasts and we are grateful to John for this picture of a country still unknown to most of us.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday April 29. The speaker on our programme is Ethnie Moser, whose subject is 'Vivre et Travailler en Haute Savoie'. Due to circumstances beyond her control, however, Mrs. Moser may be unable to come to us that day. So we suggest that members prepare for a general discussion of films or books we have enjoyed (or even hated!) - in French, of course!

Our last meeting of the season follows on May 13 at 2.30 as usual, when we revive an old custom of the club to discuss 'France as it is Today'.

Please start collecting snippets or articles about France from newspapers or magazines - whether about strikes, teenage behaviour or, of course, President Sarkozy!
